How to join

Wallsend Harriers welcomes young athletes from the age of 6 and there is no pressure for anyone to join straight away. You can come along and see if it is for you, without committing to a membership.

Please note that the Junior Multi Event/365 group is currently at capacity and we are operating a waiting list. To be added to this please email with the subject ‘Junior Multi Event/365 waiting list’.

It is recommended that before you fill in an application to join that you have already attended 2 or 3 sessions. This is to ensure that Wallsend Harriers is indeed the club for you and that we can provide you with the training and challenges that you seek (please contact us before you attend the club to enquire about place availability). Once you’re happy to join then you can apply to join online or on paper. At this stage we won’t take any money off you but someone will contact you about this once your application has been processed. The standard membership fee for Juniors is £25 per year.

If you were previously a member of another running club you must give the name of that club and the date of your resignation from that club. This is extremely important and enables us to register you with England Athletics without problems.

If you wish to apply then please contact us via email.

  • Hi, I was wondering if you could give me a guide on the current waiting list for your juniors please?
Our 8 year old son has been doing junior park run for a few years now & achieved his ultra marathon band, he continues to show a keen approach to his running.
    any info appreciated

    Regards Barry Hnter

    • Hi Barry
We do have quite a waiting list for our juniors section but I’ll have a word with one of the coaches tomorrow to find out a rough waiting time and come back to you asap.
      Kind regards

  • Hi

I would like to register my interest for my 7 year old son to join your club. He’s very altheltic and keen to join a running club. If you could add us to the waiting list that would be great. Many thanks

    Dear Ray

I would like to thank Wallsend Harriers for letting my daughter Zara Ratcliffe (13 yrs) have had try out’s with your club on a Tuesday and Friday night, since September.

I have now resigned her from Heaton Harriers and would like her to become a junior club member of Wallsend Harriers now.

Do you want me to complete any paperwork for you, and pay any club fees? She’s also love to buy a wallsend sweatshirt if possible.

    Many thanks,
    Best wishes

    Liz Ratcliffe
